Thirty minutes, no charge, and no obligation to book anything at the end of it. A large share of these end with a recommendation to do less than the person came in asking for.
What happens
in the half hour
An examination in daylight, a history, and a conversation about what is actually bothering you rather than which product you had in mind. You leave with a written plan — what we suggest, what it costs here, how long it takes, how long you will be out of the office, and what it will not change. Nothing has to be decided in the room. The consultation happens at the Lonsdale Avenue clinic in North Vancouver, in Mandarin, Cantonese or English.
It is free, and that is deliberate
A consultation you paid for is one you feel obliged to convert. This one you can walk away from, and plenty of people do.
You may be told to do nothing
Or that a different part of the face is the problem, or that the answer is surgical and belongs across the hall. Those are real outcomes, not failed appointments.
The plan is written down
Including the price, before anything is booked. Nothing is added at the counter afterwards.
Worth booking
- You are considering an injectable and do not know which, or whether
- You have had treatment elsewhere and want an outside read on it
- You want to know what something costs here before committing to anything
- Someone has quoted you a syringe count over the phone and you would like an examination instead
Book something else
- You know exactly what you want and have had it here before — book the treatment directly
- Your question is about surgery — that is a surgical consultation and it is arranged differently
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding. We will not treat, so an assessment now is of limited use
- You are unwell, or have an active skin infection in the area
Before
- Bring a list of what you have had done, roughly when, and the product names if you have them
- Older photographs of yourself help more than you would think
- Come without makeup if you can. If you cannot, we will take it off
On the day
- Examination in daylight, on your whole face, not only the area you walked in pointing at
- History, including medications, previous treatment and anything that has reacted before
- A written plan, or a written reason not to treat
After
- Take the plan home. There is no expiry on it and no hold on a price
- If you decide to go ahead, booking is a separate appointment
- If you decide not to, that is a normal outcome and you will not be chased
Questions we get
Is it really free?
Yes, for the non-surgical assessment. Surgical consultations are arranged separately and are charged; that is the surgeon’s appointment, not ours.
Will you inject on the same day?
Sometimes, if the plan is straightforward and you want to. Deciding in the room does not make it cheaper and there is no pressure to — the price is the same next month.
What if you say no?
Then you have saved the money and you know why. We will tell you what the answer actually is, including when it is a dermatologist or a surgeon rather than us.
I had filler somewhere else and I am not happy. Can you look?
Yes, and that is a common reason to book this. Bring the product name and the date if you can — it changes what can be done and how quickly.
Is there any downtime after the consultation itself?
None. It is thirty minutes of talking and looking, and nothing is injected on the day — going ahead is a separate appointment. If you do, the recovery is whatever that treatment carries, and the plan you take home says so in writing. There is nothing to recover from here and no reason to keep the afternoon free.

- Stubborn Body FatA pocket that stays the same size while the rest of you changes. Usually the flanks, the lower abdomen, or under the chin. The useful question is not which machine to use — it is whether what you are looking at is fat at all.
